If you add your server to the database, you will have a few advantages.
This is ifcourse no MUST, but more like a nice to have. There is a few
conserns (Read below).

Advantages:

Players will have their stats into the database, here they can
search for their friends, compare them, see how's 'best' and so on.
Players can register their Nicks, so that no-one can smurf (play as them)
with their nick.
Serveradmins can force so that only people who have registrated can play.

So, what do you do to add your server?

in config.cs:
check that $Telnetport and $Telnetpassword have some sensible values and
are enabled.
Then email freaky@fstat.org with THIS INFO:

Telnetport = ?(from your config.cs)
TelnetPassword = ?(from your config.cs)
Server IP Address =?(from your serverprefs)
Number of players the server can handle
A short Description of the server
Your emailaddress (that can be public displayed!!!)

That's it. It will be added in short time ;)

Now, The security concern.
==========================

Having the telnetport enabled, it will be possible for anyone to telnet into the
server (this is the same as the console). They will need the password ofcourse.
This can be sniffed (since the password is sendt in cleartext), and it
can also be 'mis-used' by me.
Now, if someone do get the password, all they can do on your server is mess
with tribes (giving themself admin, kicking people etc). There is no
way (atleast to my knowledge) of any holes in tribes that makes it possible
to access files outside \tribes catalog.
(so don't save your documents in tribes\docs ;-D)

Now, the last issue is ofcourse, can you thrust me?
All I can say, is that I have access to quite a few servers around, without
any admin ever complaining. (I NEVER use the password to give myself admin
or any other stuff) And if you ever change your mind, it's just to remove the
password. If you want to talk to some serveradmins about my behavor, check out
the email addresses on the www.fstat.org servers page. As far as I know, noone
has ever complained about me on security issues.
