Submitted (and updated twice) by DS.Poker, this script is guaranteed to get you off the ground faster, and take you higher. By jumping before you turn on the jets, you bypass that slow buildup of vertical velocity, and go straight to rocket speed.
One caveat - the code will prevent you from jumping out of a flier when you just want to go up, but the side effect is that you will have normal jets only if you are not holding a weapon. But who runs around without a weapon?!?
